OUR HEARTS AGAPE, UNFURLING

Not nearly as exciting of an entry today... Just a general update on how things are going lately for me.

Progress on MHYH has slowed to a complete stop, mostly for reasons out of my control. I am hoping to get back to work on it sooner rather than later but for the majority of this month I have been unable to work on it. I had already been taking a break on it as not to overexhaust myself since my ideas had come to a slow at that point and then Stuff Happened Continually which kept pushing back my intended days for taking the project back up. The primary reason I have been unable to work on it is because I need to rewrite the ending, as well as go back and explore some worldbuilding which i had meant not to develop for the sake of this being a small and easy project, however I cannot sacrifice storytelling for the sake of a simpler game. The problem is it takes me an unreasonable amount of mental energy to actually sit down and commit to writing something like this out. I have to have no distractions, and I get distracted very easily !!! But hopefully soon I can get back on track, now that I have a lot of my issues out of the way. I do have ideas for what I want to do but I'll have to write them out in order to fully solidify them. Pray for me maybe.

Other than that there isn't a lot to report back on for OHAU, as I've put it aside for the mo, till I can finish MHYH I hope, but I do have one thing to show for! On a little car trip I went on recently I'd been revisiting Razia's Shadow, and Life Is Looking Up really struck a chord in my thoughts this time around. I might make a video with it at some point if i can help it ! It's my favorite song in the musical and I hadn't connected the dots up until this point but it works surprisingly well for Dr. Dominique's initial motivations with the Initiative. I'm thinking that rather than the stuffy laboratory environment and theming if I went in a more almost religious direction. Like, cathedral architecture, religious practice, more in the direction of a community and village and home rather than a cold-floored strict campus with designated habitudes for every resident and such and such. There'd still be science, of course, but I think it would make more sense if that science was pivoted on the idea of ascension, as paragons culturally are religious. Not straight up, they don't worship any certain deity (as far as I'm aware anyhow,) but they have that kind of sensation about them; culminating into a bigger picture. I don't know enough about Razia's Shadow to know if the themes of science tied with religious concepts perpetuate it deeper than mentions as I have really only listened to the songs, but I want to aim for that sort of theming ! I think it would give much more weight to Doe's motivations as well, and it would make her feel more genuine. I'm not elaborating on specifics in that regard too much since it's mostly just a thought, but hey, I threw together this concept art about it.
