Our Hearts Agape, Unfurling (OHAU) was a story I created on October 18th, 2019. It's seen me through a lot of ups and downs throughout growing up, and it is very dear to me, and I would not be where I am today without it. It is my biggest passion project to date, and I invest the majority of my time into adding to it in some way, whether that be ideas, artwork, animations, or things like this website. It's the thing that I'd like to be known for; If I ever do get to tell a story, I want to tell this one. It means the world to me, and I hope it can help someone the way it's helped me.

It's endured several different iterations over the years, which I'll admit makes it seem like I will never really be satisfied with where development takes it, but we are going somewhere, I promise. Prior to 2023, I didn't really have the option to take it where I wanted, or to explore, or really try and see what did and didn't work the way that you're supposed to do when you're writing any good story. Now that me and Kess are working together, development has gone from feeling like a chore to becoming a big crazy mystery for us to solve, and it gets crazier every day.

Kess and I already worked with each other on OHAU in some capacity prior to late 2022 in the story's very early stages, but it was only for a brief period of time, and we didn't get to cooperate very much. At least, not as much as we wanted. Now that we're collaborating proper (We are free! Like little birds!) we are an unstoppable team. In this most recent iteration of the story, we feel closer to what it's meant to be now more than ever, so expect there to be really cool things in store for the future! Seriously! We can't shut up about how excited we are!

Immediately following her late mother's funeral, Melody witnesses a series of strange, mysterious events. People enter and depart from her life over the years until these events lead her to a peculiar little diner in town, called Danique's, wherein all her old friends just so happen to be working. The question is, what does a diner have to do with her mother's death, and why has everyone she's lost connection with congregated here?

OHAU contains themes of mystery, unreality, religious imagery, horror, sci-fi, cannibalism, and fantasy. It has a very "big picture" to it. We'd like it to be a serious story, but not a depressing one - a mature one. A story that matters. It is a story about food and how it fosters connection between people. We want to make it into something weird and whimsical and gross in a fascinating way. Hopefully what you've seen so far has already been up that alley!

The star of the show! For most of her life, Mel has worked and lived in her family's bakery making sweets and hot pastries. Following this bizarre thread may end up being the most adventurous thing she's ever done.

One of the stately fellows managing Danique's; Beau is quite the peculiar individual. He fully insists on cooking in the kitchen despite his position. It's like a second home to him.

Around a year after their mother's funeral, Mel's brother moved out to room in an apartment with one of his friends. Clover works at the diner maintaining janitorial duties and sneaking fry bits during lunch rush.

Clay comes from a rather difficult, tumultous background, resulting in an overall feeling of instability in her life. Despite this, she's doing her best to carve out a place for herself in Amity, and works as a waitress at Danique's.

Sal manages the business side of Danique's. He's hard-working but cheerful, always offering his best smile to customers. When he's not in his office, he's making sure everything is operating smoothly around the diner.

Sidnee is Amity's aloof and withdrawn sheriff, and that's about the extent anyone knows about her. After the mysterious disappearance of the last sheriff, she seemingly just appeared and took over the role.
